Revitalised little girls accessories....

I have a list as long as my arm of things I would like to do, to 'upcycle' some worn out or outgrown fashion-wise clothing and accessories. When you have a Helmar video due, and a deadline to meet....with no 'idea' in my head of what you want to do.....its acually a great place to start.

I found this cute little bag with a sequined butterfly, in the bottom of my daughters wardrobe, discarded and forgotten. Some of the sequins has fallen off and it looked a little worn. Then I saw the little craft thongs I bought Mazzie a few weeks ago, and had not gotten round to 'crafting' yet.... PEERFECT.

                                                                      So I did this......

Helmar 450 QUICKDRY  and  GEMSTONE glue worked a treat
Visit the blog HELMAR HERE and see a plethora of projects created with Helmar adhesives.  There are new ones posted daily!

Thats it from me today.  Enjoy.
Remember to do something crafty today!

Our latest Palette Release

Todays release was fabulous!

Have a look Here.
The Color Room Designers did a phenomenal job this week
These girls are seriously talented!

The palette they used came from this....

Love those greens and blues together.  And I am really not a green girl, but there is something about This green!!!!  Yum!  It was really nice to work with.  Note the sketch this week.  I used it loosely with my LO this time.  This is optional.  There if you need!  For more sketches......have a look here.
Here is what my project turned out like....

I used some digital elements given to tTCR's Designers this month to play with, by Laura at Layers of Color (This month Sponsor for the Member RAK)

1. Warbler
2. Brick wall
3. Victorial frame

I just printed them out on white cardstock, cut them out and coloured with paints where necessary.
So easy to use.  Thanks Laura!

This Layout was also sponsored for The Color Room By Amy Prior of Scrapbooking Haven.  She has provided some of the Australian Designers some goodies to play with.  Among the stash was some Glimmer Mist (the pretty blue sprayed in the background and mixed with some Shimmerz Colorings in blue) and some Prima Flowers.  You will see more goodies here and there sent from Scrapbooking Haven.
Make sure you check it out.  She has THE best prices I have seen in a very long time.  Totally brilliant!
Thanks so much Amy!

Now....the card Sketch.....
I really need to make some more cards.  I should try to fit in a card this week!!!!
Ok.....that's me done again for this week.

See you again soon!

Palette Release #45

#45!!!!
Wow 45 Palettes.
45 sketches.....
Totally great!!!!

it looks like this, this week.

Isnt it lovely to look at!!!!
Wonder if it will be lovely to actually create with.
I have read that many have an aversion to Purples......But goodness.....doesnt it look pretty?

This weeks sketch looks like this.

Stop by The Color Room and join in this week.

A video for Shimmerz Paints.

I made a little swatch book to help me keep track of all the paints and sprays in the ranges.  (Way over 100 of them now!!!)  And I have found it so helpful in that regard to see what I have and have not got.  BUT......The reason I love it now is something I didnt plan for, but I use it so often now to select colour palettes with the paints.  Sometimes its near impossible for me to dream up unexpected colour schemes, and I tend to be drawn to the same colours I love.  With this little swatch book though, I can pull out the pages and hold the 'actual' colours of the sprays and paints -once dried (which is sometimes deceivingly different than it looks from the bottle or pot)  next to each other and find schemes which I never would have dreamt up myself!
I rely on it so much now.
Ok......check it out!

Thats it from me today!!!!
Have a good day!!!!

A video to share for Helmar.

Its my turn again on the Helmar Blog.
I am creating an Art Journal page using some Helmar Art Mediums.

Helmar Decoupage craft Paste and Helmar 2 Step Crackle Medium.
Both of these items can be found HERE for more details.

I had a lot of fun using these two products on my journal background page today.
Take a look.

It seems the video is reversed.  I apologise.  I just started using a new editing programme and I could not for the life of me work out how to flip it back the right way.  Hopefully I will work it out soon, or there will be no point showing labels on screen anymore!!!!

Hope you enjoy it, and it inspired you to go make something just for fun.

Art journaling.

I have been playing (quite literally!) With Art journaling.
I am having a wow-of-a-time.
I bound my own journal, using lots of old and VERY unappealing papers, mixed with some inclusions of envelopes, handmade papers and vellum.  Even this was fun.
Here is is in it's unfinished entirety!!!!

This is an ongoing adventure and I am loving every minute.
Its creating for fun.  Free time Art.  No expectations.
I Love it.

One page looks like this.......

and another

Its nice to have no boundaries.  Or more to the point, challenge myself to just let it go and create something with no expectations.....I place far too many expectations on my work. This is a growing exercise for me.

I have been inspired and motivated by  Rach0113, Milliande, Donna Downey, Willowing and Suzyblu on You tube.  Love watching these women create in their journals.

Anyway.....Thats it for today.
Bye!!!

The Color Room Whitewashed......

We are starting a new spin on the palettes every now and then.....
Monochromatic colours.
They are so appealing (to me anyway!  especially with white......SO......
We are starting TCR's 'whitewashed' palettes.
They will be randomly thrown in amongst the existing rooms where ever they fit.
This week it looks like this.

Taken from the Family Room these monochromatic Greens with white is just gorgeous.
That inspiration picture is very appealing too, dont you think?

For a mini tutorial post on Monochromatic Colours See HERE

So with these palettes......
You are only able to use the colours in the palette, (not the usual colour additions allowed- brown, cream, kraft and black)
Really.....its a study of one particular colour in three of its varying shades paired with white. White allows the colour to shine, and nothing looks bad with white to set it off!!!!

Hope you give it a try!  It should be fun!!!!

The card sketch this week.....
And we shall call it done!
Have a happy week!

The Color Room #43.......

Another week
Another release!

The last one for our Shimmerz Partnership.  Isnt it lovely!
Lots of fun playing with all that paint!!!!
AND.....The card sketch this week

Maybe one to file away for Valentines day!  Cute!!!
Hope you are having a great week!
