....nother one

The new colour combos challenge.  This one actually was a challenge.  Not exactly my colours!

No-easy-task

I did enjoy playing with these little Maya Road chipboard houses
 Textural-NET

The colours were yellow, teal, orange and Vanilla.....I had fun even if I only had 1 sheet of yellow cardstock and 2 or 3 orange/yellow sheets of Printed Paper in my stash.....I managed!!!

Quick Link....

Just a quick one for something I saw this morning, that I found interesting.  It may be handy!             Colours pallete Generator   it is for finding the perfect colours in an image for web design I believe....but also extremely handy for a scrapper.  You enter your photo you want to scrap (you need to resize less than 1100k first) then the generator gives you a pallete of all the light shades, medium shades and dark shades that are in your photo or image!  Mmmm.

Some Layouts......

Well...I know....blogging again within a week.  I have got some more pages to share!  It's much easier to post regularly when You have stuff to post!!!

This one was a little difficult to do.  I got to the journaling part and had to keep leaving it....When a tear fell onto my page...I knew I needed to get up and do something else!  I have never scrapped anything about my baby sister, and while it is not totally on her (like I will attempt someday) it was quite emotional.  Mykenzie is named after Nerae ( Middle name)

The-Jacket
journaling reads.....

When we put it one one morning getting ready for church, I had to blink back tears. You were the same age she was when she died and she was the last to wear it 25 years ago.  You looked so cute in it, as I know she did.  She would have loved you.  The Jacket is in pristine condition, held gently and stored carefully until the day another little girl could slip it over her shoulders.  The adults around look on with sentiment in their eyes....a tear here and there, remembering the little girl it was bought for.  You are oblivious to the emotion we feel, for you...It's warm, and it has fluff!!

Web

This one was a part of a 3 project class taught at Scrapbook Station  I scanned and copied the actual plans to our house and printed it onto the background.  It is a good record to have.

Well...For once, I plan to go and actually do some scrapping instead of spending so much time loking at it online!!!  Denver and Mykenzie are at school and kindy....I am home alone (still gettting used to that!) Perfect conditions for being creative.  Here I go.......

Fun Colour challenge Blog

I have been visiting a blog Janine put me onto, fairly frequently lately.  It is a colour combinations Challenge blog, and is aptly named Color Combos Galore- (requiring none of the afore mentioned explanation!!!)  I did not think it was something for me when I saw Janine whip out a plethora of layouts
(Man that girl is prolific)  when I was struggling to get even one done!  Anyway long story short...I joined and did my first challenge....IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN.  Had to wait days for the next challenge....and I did another!  I am really enjoying it.  I thought I would find it really difficult, when I spend so much time choosing the right colours when I start a new LO....But so far it is really working for me.  I am sold....I am a fan.....And I have even gone back through the first 108 challenges to see if I could find one I missed that I would enjoy doing ( I did)  Well anyway....this LO is the first one I attempted  Using olive green, poinsietta ( red) black and cream.
Jan-010
The next was yellow, brown, cream and mint green ( which turned out a bit blue)  Honestly it's not my favourite, but I love the memory.  It was the first time I could see so clearly something Denver had made.  I was blown away, he did a really good job of wall-e!

Anyhow....that's it for tonight.  I really should get to uploading some new stuff....
Night all.....

Hey...again.
Mid january already!
2009....wow.

I am enjoying NOT getting ready for school every morning.
I am loving staying far too late in my pyjamas.
Very laid back....very relaxed.
I read 4 books last week.
Glorious.
I love to read, but I have not read books like I used to since Denver was born 6 years ago.

I made many christmas presents this year......so I have not been scrapping much of late.  Christmas scrapped me out real good.  I did not even get photos.

I did some canvas' for a class at Scrapbook Station that I can share.  They were actually very therapeudic to do.  I love getting my hands messy in arty stuff.  Impasto medium (texture paste), mod podge and paint.  I stamped with bubble wrap, and the lid off a mousse bottle, a toothpaste lid, a cork and the eraser end of a pencil.  I modpodged napkins.  I tore pages out of an old book from a local second hand store and painted over and over.  Lots-a-layers here!Blog-canvas1 Canvas-2-blog2 Blog-canvas-3 They now have pride of place, and look very cool against our brown wall in the lounge/dining area.

I am someone who tends to make lots of stuff for other people, and rarely for myself, so there is not always a lot to show for all the scrapping....so It is nice to have something I can say, "yep there it is"

My lovely girl Janine nominated me for a blog award.   Blog award

Now I am required to nominate 7 others.....Mmmm 7.  Janine did 3, maybe I will follow her lead.  Maybe 'lovely' could incorporate 'inspirational'  Then these ladies will be nominated for all the amazing things they create and I visit to see!

That done, I must go to bed.  Kids are recharching as I type, so I had better catch some zzzz's  Or I will be in trouble!

I will be back!

This is what I do it seems....I get all organised and am slightly better at blogging,  then something happens ( such as a housewide epidemic) and I loose my rhythm....With everything.  I did get really good at bulk cooking (saving me oodles of time)....I got on top of the washing and cleaning,  I knew where all the paperwork was,  I was on top of my scrapping....I was organised....then we all got sick....for a long time (for 12 weeks we all had something)  and I did not blog, or cook, or be on top of anything!  But It's coming back to me.....

.....Just in time for the holidays.

Anyway....I did not scrap.

Then yesterday I did a LO......not for a class, for Moi!  Have a little look.

Laundryweb Journaling reads.....

"Laundry is work!  It's keeps coming and never seems to diminish, I don't love it!  But I came across a ladies blog once and her perspective on laundry and all those thankless household duties ( that are required of a stay at home mum with a busy family to care for) changed my view of my home occupation.  She was talking about 'loving' all these duties (Maybe love is a little extreme....) because it reminded her she was alive with a beautiful little family....I get that!  The loads of laundry and the mountains of folded clothes ever awaiting placement in someones wardrobe, is a prime example of realising how lucky I am to have what I have.  My beloved family.  Now laundry is actually not-so-bad!"

Textural-laundry

Yay....It felt good.

Oh...and meet the newest member of our family  (just today actually....so new, he has no name!)

Kitty-018   Kitty-028

He's cute.....and very playful!  Mykenzie is in her element....Denver is still at school, so will get a big surprise when he gets home.....So will John!!!   hehehe [insert evil laugh here]

Anyway.....there is some meowing coming from afar, so I had better rescue a small cat, from a small girl!

You watch me do another post soon!   ( .....I am on a roll I told you!)

My Scrapping slump is no longer....well so far!  I did two today....finished one from yesterday and started and finished another.   This is not usually me.  Usually they can sit on my desk amid a nasty mess (as you can not put stuff away mid project!) for days!

Magoolie

I printed these photos ages ago, and had done nothing with them.  They were of nothing in particular, just a time when the camera was clicking away.....Then I actually looked at the photos taken when DS was about 3 and I realised they told so much more than just the drawing event.....I noticed the bangage on his arm and that grin he used to do when ever you asked him to smile for a photo!  So I journalled on these things most....amazing what a simple photo, of nothing in particular, can remind you of.

I wrapped wire around my supatack blue bottle ,then wrapped the coil with feally fine wire to hold it together.  I mounted that on some paper, cut out felt hearts and 'buttons' then blanket stitched around each.

Wire

The next one is something Mazzie said a couple of days ago.  We thought it was funny!  She is doing this a lot lately....makes us laugh at the things she says, that she thinks is 'exactly-how-you-say-it'!!

Mudpie

This one uses some damask paper Janine found somewhere in her travels (and she gave me a bit!!!......It is flocked mmmm!) I am not one for digital scrapping...(more so for the fact I have no idea how!!!) but I do use photoshop a lot...so I manipulated the photos of this particular 'mudpie' and printed them out as one.  Almost digital scrapping...(baby steps!)  I like Layouts that record something I know will be forgotten if not written down, and this certainly qualifies.

Oh well I created today...that does me good!

Now I should go and clean!
