Black, White and Grey with a touch of Teal.....

Hello today!

It is a good day to create.  I am sharing another project from the MCS Kit for November

I used the Creative Kit this month.

"Hello Everyday Life"

These gorgeous papers layered together make a Layout easy!

The drips on this page are a brand new Shimmerz Coloringz colour, which is one of my new favourites!  Love "A shade of grey"  such a great dark grey.

I loved these sticker words in the kit.  I adhered them dimensionally with liquid Scrap dots from Helmar.

The black, white and grey with the pop of teal works well together.  So pretty!

So it was a super quick share today!

My Creative Scrapbook November Creative Kit.

A new month Means Lots of new Projects with the My Creative Scrapbook Kits.....
I got The Creative Kit.  Its a different kit than the one I usually work with BUT I Loved it!!!!

Here is the Kit....

"Grandpa's Glasses"

Fun with Shimmerz Paints Sprays and an acylic block

Loved the colours here.  Red, black and yellow.

Not a colour scheme that comes to mind when I think of an appealing palette

But it works.

and I like it!  LOL

a few colours of Shimmerz Paint in the background sets the scene nicely and softens the background.

Paint creates depth in that it makes layers on your project without adding bulk....there are 3 layers of colours here before we even start on the paper and other embellishments!

Paint is cool!

Little groupings of embellishments work in negative space, creating a little more balance

and of course a sweet little doily!  Love adding doilies!!!!  Some sticker labels with their corners rounded, makes some cool tabs with with tiny attacher.  Some punched stars and circles and some Grey Shimmerz Coloringz finishes it all off just nicely!

October Tutorial. MCS

Today  I have the October Tutorial to share with you.  I thought I would show you quickly how I created this Page.  I used the October Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

I had lots of Artsy fun with this page, and you can see it morph with the layering in the pictures below.

It really is a layered piece!

First I used stencils and brown Ink to add some texture to the background.

Then I added paint and sprayed with water and dry brushed it on here and there.

I used a bottle lid stamped in india ink, to leave circles around the page, with some black drips added with a dip pen dipped in the india ink.

I wrote words, drew scraggly circles in varying sizes and just made marks.

I hand cut some letters for my Title from the Paper in the kit, and I painted them with the Shimmerzy Paint!  Gorgeous!

I pulled out elements that would work.

a doily

the hexagonal chip shapes....which I painted with crackle texture paint, and then green paint, then Shimmerz Paint.

The ribbon (olive green organza)

A title that matched what I wanted to say

A flower I pulled apart and sprayed with Shimmerz 

Then I started fiddling about with the layers and the placement of the bits and pieces.

By this stage I wanted to take it back a bit, and tone down the strong colour.

So I swiped gesso over the background, and used the end of the paint brush to made circles all around, with the Shimmerz Paint , framing my focal area of the page

Lots and lots of texture.

I let that dry and adhered down all the pieces .

Here's some of the layers and embellishing close up.

I stick little bits here and there to create groupings and fill spaces.

Little pieces of left over string, Folded ribbons

Little labels and strips cut up

and little stickers....

(I adore those owls.  You can use the 'Owl' sheet of paper in the kit and cut out the sweet little owls and you can have owls forever!!!)

I wrote my journalling on strips and cut it up to place down the side of the page.

It changed a bit over its production, but I liked how it came out in the end.

And I almost gave it up several times,  I set it aside, and kept going back to it, because I loved the colours with the striped Paper.....I learned two things.....1- sometimes it pays to persist......and 2- almost anything can be saved....sometimes you just need to set it aside, and come back to it with fresh eyes.

My Creative Scrapbook October

The October Main Kit from MCS features some fabulous Carta Bella  and Echo Park Products.  This one was a really cute Kit, and I enjoyed it.  In fact I still have heaps left over and am going to continue to enjoy it!!!  But for Now, here's another of the Layouts I created!  (See the first one I shared in the Blog Hop Last week HERE)

I loved this ruler paper!  

I just chose a  brown Paint (Shimmerz Hot Fudge) and sprayed other elements to make them a little more monochromatic, so it didn't 'fight' with the busy background.

I chose the brown ribbon to add to the background, some strips of stamped waxed paper,  Cut a label sticker in half and used top and bottom as 'tabs', sprayed a white flower brown, and painted the banner with texture paste and rubbed walnut distress inks into it.  The sweet little brown deer finished it off nicely!

I loved the waxed brown String in the kit too.....really nice!

And the Fourth Project....

A very quick and easy one this time.  

Clean and simple, with just a couple of layers of some contrasting papers in the kit.

So on with the PROJECT!

Here is just one of the projects I created with the October Main kit: 

I loved working with this Kit!  Such gorgeous papers. and sweet embellishments!

I did a lot of subtle layering in this page. 

*******Layout How to******

1. I chose the dotty paper

2. I started with the Prima Packaging from the flower Packet.  The green suited the colour scheme!

3.Then I layed on a doily

4. I used the scalloped border from the Sticker sheet tucked under the packaging, top and bottom.

5. I printed out my Photos 4 to a 6x4 Photo- printed at home using the 'Fuzel' App on my i-phone.

6. Cut up the die cut 12x12 sheet of Kraft Polaroid frames and chose 3 to frame my photos.  I just stapled these together with the photos placed how I wanted them, to stick down as 1 entire piece. 

 (A bit less fiddly that way)

7. I pulled apart a couple of the flowers in the pack, so they are more 'simple' and less dimensional for my page.

*******TECHNIQUE TIP******

8.  I threaded a needle and using the ruffled ribbon in the kit, I cut a length about 4.5 inches long and ran a loose straight stitch up the length of it.  Pull the thread to gather it and it makes a little circle.  Do a couple of stitches to hold it together and glue to the centre of each flower. 

and you have the sweetest little altered flower!

9.  Select the little birds and the owl adding foam tape to the back of the owl and largest bird....and layer them on top of the flower stacks.  Poke in little leaves around the perimeter to create a little gathering of embellishments.  Choose a mix of stickers and chip embellishments to add dimension.  Layer them on top of the flower as well.

10.  Using the rhinestone gem embellishment cut apart sections that look like flourishes and poke them in around the cluster.

11.  Add in the chip banner "Such a Perfect Day"

12.  Peel off the sticker banner and cut off three flags.

13.  Add a chip word strip "homemade with love" and the chip arrow just above it.

14.  Cut apart two gemstones and add them to the owls eyes.

 15.  Select the stickers with the words in the sub title and cut apart to form the word stack on the left of the photos.  "A perfect Day to Spend with you"  glue them in place.

A Little Lettering.

I have a quick lettering Project to share with you.  Its in my Bible, but you can do with anywhere.

Heres the project.

I used Shimmerz Marigold, Golden Wheat, Royal Red, Celery and Tickle me turquoise

Below is the opposite side.  I used gel medium through a stencil on wax paper, dried it and painted it with Shimmerz. Its totally transparent, and very pretty.  See the how to post HERE

Here it is turned over and you can see the text through it.
