Welcome, welcome, to the Shimmerz Paints "We're Thankful" Blog Hop!
The holidays are quickly approaching, and we will soon be entering into the gift giving season. Before black friday appears though, we want to remember all the things that we are thankful for this year. We've decided to put on a blog hop, telling you things that we are thankful for and along the way we will share with you our own personal favorite Shimmerz Products, and give you the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes! Have you seen our new collection? It's made up of of 4 new vibez colors, shimmering with golden luster! They will work amazingly with our holiday collection that we are re-releasing for the holidays! If you didn't get the opportunity to snag these last year, now is your chance!
To play along with us, visit the following links, leave a comment everywhere you go, and finally, once you end up on the Shimmerz Blog page, tell us something that you are thankful for and what Shimmerz Paint product you wish you had. Make sure to leave a comment everywhere though, because there are a couple of prizes hidden within some of the Ed team, and DT blog posts! (To be eligible to win these, you must have left a comment on their blog hop post.)
So lets get on with it shall we.....
My project today uses some of my favourite Shimmerz Products. I love all of them, and there are certainly colours I am drawn to, but I think I would have to say I really enjoy the Coloringz range, just for their brilliance and the fact they are opaque and lovely strong colours.
Here is my project.......
There are many tutorials on PINTEREST on the melted crayon techniques, where you glue crayons to a canvas and heat them until they turn to liquid wax and drip down the canvas....It looks seriously cool. This is reminiscent of this technique, just a little less involved!!!
I used a stencil to create the background numbers with texture paste, then sprayed the paints one by one along the top third, where the focus of the page will be, I let it drip down and assisted them here and there by blowing them with a straw.
I cut some little mini tags with a PaperTrey Ink die in my Bigshot, then painted them with the same Coloringz paints, with a paintbrush, like watercolours..
I added all kinds of different coloured flowers grouping them in the same colours as the sprays, and popped a dew drop in the centre of each. (Pinterest is a fabulous source of inspiration, and this is not an original idea, I have seen flowers and butterflies used in this manner many times and it is so very effective!)
You can see all the things I am thankful for on this photoless page, but something else I am thankful for though, is being able to be creative, with wonderful women from all over the world, using fantastic products. Its my therapy, its my artistic outlet, its my bliss!!!
Thanks for stopping by today....and be sure to continue on to Heidi's Blog
