Today I am sharing a Project I created with this Crafters Workshop Template for The Crafters Workshop Blog

                                                              Swirly Garden TCW325

I adore this Template.  There are so many options.  For this page I used Tim Holtz Distress inks In 3 colours.  They blend so beautifully together, and they worked beautifully with this stencil.

So here is the finished Project.

I used The distress inks with an ink Blending tool dedicated to each colour, to keep the colours pure.
I held the 12x12 stencil in place over my regular white cardstock.
Then I loaded the blending foam with ink and lightly rubbed in a circular motion over the Stencil being careful not to shift it.  I did the same with my next colour, blending the colours together where they meet.  I did the same to the third colour in the bottom portion of the page.

I tried to keep the ink in a random orientation down the centre of the page to make for an interesting background.  I loved the look of this, and I could totally have stopped there.

Instead, I kept going..... I added some Zentangle pen work within the stenciled pattern to complete the background.

I started by tracing around the edge of the pattern with with a fine felt tip Black pen.

Then I added lots of little repeating patterns filling the coloured areas..

Very therapeudic!
Especially if you have all the inking done,
and then sit down in front of the TV to fill it all in with Zentangles.

Thanks for stopping in today!
